Yeah…. as if no one (especially not on Tumblr) saw *this* coming.
They bought Tumblr and you just knew… JUST KNEW they wouldn’t waste any time fucking things up.
The web was and is built on porn. Period. End of story.
If you cannot get over that, if you can’t accept that, then you are bound to fuck things up and/or lose a shit-ton of your shareholders’ money.
It’s really unbelievable: the mainstream press has never, ever talked about this dirty truth about the web, that it is built by and for porn. All that other stuff, all those other wonderful websites would never exist without all the traffic, revenue, and profits that porn sites generate.
So you get people like Mayer who think, well, we’ll buy Tumblr, root out the porn, and *still* make buckets of money off of it….. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING, YOU DOLT?!?!!? IT SIMPLY DOES NOT AND HAS NEVER WORKED LIKE THAT ON THE WEB.
If it has porn, then porn is a huge part of what makes it valuable, end of story. Why can’t people like Mayer get that through their heads?
