I was feeling really good about my body and proud that I got my mile time under 10 minutes so this happened. I wish I had different before pictures to use but I don’t, unfortunately. Anyways, I have a pouch of excess skin and fat on my stomach, as you can see, but it’s finally getting smaller. Other than that, I’m pretty satisfied with how far I have come, but I feel like I still have a long way to go. Abs, I’m coming for you.
Here’s the thing, though: you have to keep it off.
Most people who take off weight put it back on within months or a couple years. I think that’s usually because the changes they make to lose the initial weight are simply not realistic to keep as life changes you will always stick with.
No one wants to live life without ever eating bread again, most people are simply not going to work out two/three hours a day for the rest of their lives.
People who lose weight *should* feel proud and that they have accomplished something because they have accomplished a lot. But the real trick, the real effort comes in making that transformation, that change permanent. THAT’S what is really, really difficult.
